The procedures featured on this page are among the most requested: breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, and breast implant removal and revision; liposuction, tummy tuck, mommy makeover, Brazilian butt lift and labiaplasty; facelift, brow lift, eyelid surgery, neck liposuction, lip lift and facial fat transfer; and gynecomastia surgery, male liposuction and male eyelid surgery. Where are Dr. Waltho's surgeries performed?
Most procedures are performed at Appleby Plastic Surgery, Dr. Waltho’s purpose-built on-site surgical facility at 5045 Mainway, Unit 110, Burlington, Ontario L7L 5H9. It includes a dedicated operating room, recovery area, and consultation suites. Dr. Waltho also holds privileges at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and five other regional hospitals.
Is Dr. Daniel Waltho a board-certified plastic surgeon?
Yes. Dr. Daniel Waltho holds an MD and is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Plastic Surgery (FRCSC). Royal College certification requires attestation in Surgical Foundations, successful completion of the Royal College examination in Plastic Surgery, and the Plastic Surgery Portfolio. He also holds an adjunct academic appointment at McMaster University.
How much does a consultation with Dr. Waltho cost?
A cosmetic consultation is $150 plus HST. The fee is waived for breast augmentation and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) consultations. The consultation is a face-to-face meeting with Dr. Waltho covering your options, candidacy, expected results, and next steps. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
How long is recovery after plastic surgery?
Recovery depends on which procedure you have, how extensive it is, and whether procedures are combined. Because the range is wide, Dr. Waltho gives you a recovery plan specific to your surgery at your consultation, covering time off work and when you can safely return to exercise. Each individual procedure page on this site describes what recovery involves for that operation.
Which plastic surgery procedures can be combined?
Procedures are commonly combined when it is safe to do so and the recoveries overlap. A mommy makeover combines breast enhancement with a tummy tuck and liposuction in a single operation. A breast lift can be combined with implants, and a brow lift with eyelid surgery. Suitability is assessed individually at consultation.
Are these procedures covered by OHIP?
Most cosmetic procedures are not covered by OHIP. Some procedures performed for documented functional or medical reasons may be eligible under specific criteria. Breast reduction and upper eyelid surgery that obstructs the visual field are two examples. Eligibility is assessed case by case and confirmed during your consultation.
Which areas does Waltho Plastic Surgery serve?
The practice is located in Burlington, Ontario, and serves patients from Burlington, Oakville, Hamilton, Milton, Georgetown, Mississauga and the wider Greater Toronto Area. The facility at 5045 Mainway, Unit 110 is directly accessible from the QEW and Highway 407.
How do I choose the right procedure?
Start with your goal rather than with a procedure name. Book a consultation and tell Dr. Waltho what you want to change. He will examine you, review your medical history, explain which options can realistically achieve that goal and what each one involves, then recommend a plan. Some patients are better suited to a different procedure than the one they arrive asking about.
